Give a Cluck 2013!

Remember when I mentioned that I was going to sell all the stuff that I’ve received over the past year and donate the proceeds to a charity called, Young Parents No Fixed Address? Well, we finally got it all pulled together and I’m ready to roll. I figured it would be better to have it start before Black Friday and end just after Cyber Monday so it straddles the madness a little.

Not only am I selling all the items sent to me, I’ve also had many companies donate some incredible stuff to add to this great cause.

Here’s what up for grabs:

mamas&papas armadillo stroller (lemon drop yellow): This is the stroller I reviewed and I just loved it. Let me tell ya something, if I still had a kid that fit in a stroller, this would not be available. You can check out the review and make fun of my Canadian accent here. I will be shipping it directly to you, plus, I got a little jingling armadillo toy from the ABC show so I’ve clipped it on as a little bonus. Retail value $280 and you can bid on it here.

Did you know that mamas&papas makes kick ass toys and accessories? I didn’t until they offered up this little collection including a London Bus Stroller Toy – Mini Red Bus, a Happy Hen activity toy and a gingerbread blanket. All of these have received outstanding reviews online and how amazing are the colour combinations? This little group has a retail value of $80 and you can bid on it here.

TOMgirl’s Perfect Pregnancy Bra adapts to your body’s changing size – it can loosen as you get farther along and then tighten after delivery. It has a velco closure so you can adjust it to whatever size your are that day. I featured these on the Nursing Bra post and they’ve gotten some rave reviews:

“This is without the doubt the most comfortable bra I own. I love that it looks like a sports bra, but is far more flattering. The velcro closure is absolutely ingenious, especially if you wear a size that is hard to find like I do. Beautiful bra, great quality, fabulous attention to detail, fast shipping and wonderful customer service. Bra shopping has never been less stressful!”

They retail for $47 each and there are five, FIVE! available for the taking. You can bid on them here: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

You want to see a new mother go crazy (me included)? Dangle an aden+anais swaddler in front of them. There is good reason that this brand is so popular, it is awe-some. When I was at the Baby Expo their whole booth felt like a breath of soft, fresh air with all their 100% cotton muslin goodness floating around. But what could make their swaddlers even better? I know, let’s make them into baby sleeping bags. Oh and wait, let’s also make an adult sized blanket out of them. Yes please! Then let’s top it all off with some naturally derived skincare products. Get out my head aden+anais!

This group of products woven from the finest unicorn sighs retails for $240. You can bid on it here.

This lands under the why-the-hell-has-no-one-thought-of-this-before? It’s a wall-mounted diaper and wipe caddy that allows for one-handed access so you can keep one hand safely on your baby. I can’t tell you how many times I cursed the wipe container because I couldn’t pull the wipe out with one hand while cleaning up a massive back-shit disaster. It also holds the diapers so your baby can’t grab five and drag them through said disaster (happened to me three times).

The Bobee Diaper & Wipe Dispenser is a wall-mounted diaper and wipe caddy that allows for one-handed access so you can keep one hand safely on your baby. It is customizable with included colorful decals to decorate and match your nursery room decor. Bobee fits high quantities in all sizes and brands of disposable diapers and even holds cloth diaper inserts. Prepackage wet wipes or cloth wipes fit neatly below.

Retail value $42 and there are two up for grabs. You can bid on them here and here.

I belong to an affiliate program so I can get sneak peeks at all the deals companies are going to promote, and they had a “win a phil&teds promenade stroller” contest and guess who won? That’s right, this kid right here! I got fairly excited. Okay, I lost my damn mind and I wanted to have it sit in my office and stroke it like Gollum, “My promenade! Hsssss.” Then I decided that it probably made more sense for a person with an actual baby to own it so I talked to the incredibly nice people at phil&teds and they said they would be happy to ship my prize anywhere in North America. This thing does everything except make toast and tell you that you’re pretty. It retails for $600 and you can only buy it if you will love it like I would (sniff). Bid on it here.

I can’t remember where I saw the holo first (maybe Pinterest) but I remember what I thought, “Holy crap, I would have loved one of those when I was pregnant!” Not surprisingly a lot of pregnant women feel the same way and these holos are totally taking off for sleeping, getting massaged, or just lounging in the pool. They are tricky to get in North America (you’d make a killing if you wanted to distribute them here) so grab the chance to sleep on your stomach and I’ll ship you the brand new one I have. It retails for $97 and you can bid on it here.

Lifenest made the ABC Kids Expo Top 10 and for good reason. “Back to sleep” is the safest way to position your baby to reduce the risk of SIDS but it’s also a good way to get a baby with a flat head. This ingenious insert holds your baby in a soft mesh hammock so the pressure is off their head. It also allows for air circulation to reduce the chance of suffocation. They retail for $100 and you can bid on the brand new one I have here.

You know who I love? And I’ll tell you why. First off, the guys that run it are amazing. I asked for help on this thing and not only did they deliver on all this kick ass stuff to auction off, they even donated 5 packs of 10 cloth diapers (that already include a set of liners) + 10 extra liners to give directly to the charity so if anyone there wanted to cloth diaper their kids they could. Each pack has a retail value of $280+ tax so that’s $1,400 worth of diaper before I’ve even hit the ground on this. Secondly, this company produces exceptional stuff. Just have a peek on the site or on their Facebook page to see how people rave about their products. Thirdly, they have some of the best customer service I’ve ever seen and that ain’t easy to come by anymore. Check out the great stuff they donated:

These cotton change mats just plain simple and smart. Cotton on top to keep your baby cozy and dry. Waterproof backing to prevent a strained carrot nightmare from permeating whatever you innocently laid your baby on to change them. They also come in a variety of 6 cool patterns and retail for $18.85. There are five up for grabs (colour of your choice) and you can bid on them here: 1,2,3,4 and 5.

People go ba-nanas for these diapers. Here are just a few of the reviews:

“I love how well this diaper actually works!!! I don’t have to worry about my daughters diapers leaking anymore!! Everything stays inside!!! Very impressed!! I also LOVE that she’ll poop on the diaper and NOTHING stains!!!! Such a great diaper!! These diapers made it so easy to switch to cloth diapers!!! I’m so upset when I run out!! Can’t wait to order some more!!!”

“We bought these diapers after doing extensive research on the best way to do reusable diapers. Based on ease of use, durability, materials used, intuitive design (the dyson of diapers) and sheer comfort, these diapers are hands down the best. Not only is the product top of the line, the service we received was nothing I have ever experienced, these people listen to you and are really trying to get your business. If you are going to have a baby and want to do everything right, this is the place for you. Thank you Lil Helpers, our baby loves them.”

“For once a product is exactly as advertised. I am able to put her in these without anything else on her bum and her skin stayed healthy. The inserts are well-sized allowing for multiple uses of the same cover (unlike some other AI2s which end up being single use only). By the end of the first day, all traces of rash had disappeared for the very first time in her life.”

Retail value $24.95 for the diaper, plus $11.95 for the liner for an approximate total of $37. We have three up for grabs (colour of your choice) and you can bid on them here: 1, 2, and 3.

These organic bamboo/cotton fleece mattress protectors have princess and the pea layers except they are protecting from pees, not peas (see what I did there?) They have a cotton top layer for softness, a jersey middle layer for absorption, and a bottom layer that’s made out of medical grade waterproof material to protect your mattress.

As always, they come in a variety of cool patterns and retail for $39. We have two available (colour of your choice) and you can bid on them here and here.

Don’t see anything here that strikes your fancy but you’d still like to help? You can make a donation by clicking the button below and whether it be a couple of bucks or a billion, I’ll make sure it’s put toward the purchase of these gift cards.

And if you are still looking to help out, most of these charities could really use maternity clothes, and clothing and diapers for larger babies. I guess most people think “newborn” when donating stuff and don’t realize that the 18-month old would sure like her diaper changed and a warm snowsuit. Shit, I’m going to cry again. Seriously, I don’t know how I’m going to hand these gift cards over because if they give me any more insight into the struggles these families face I’m going to end up with 60 people living in my basement. It really is tough so if you can think of a way to help ‘em out – I know they’d truly appreciate it.

A special thanks also goes out to my little Kelly for all her organizing and offers to drive all over God’s green earth to deliver this stuff, and to my web wizard Daniel and his wee side kick Will for posting all this stuff on eBay. For a place that sells billions of dollars in merchandise they have one of the worst, most frustrating posting interfaces I’ve ever seen. I seriously wanted to drop kick it off a fucking building.

Thanks for bidding, helping and just being plain awesome. All of you.
