Mmmm, coffee!

Kraft Canada has launched a new line of Keurig®* Compatible Pods so they asked me if I wanted to try them.  Obviously I said, “yes” because I love coffee and I love my Keurig® on an unnatural level. Whoever came up with the Keurig needs a kiss on the mouth – it’s amazing how much joy that small convenience brings to my life.

They sent along a lovely basket of goodies including a lovely box of biscotti and a Maxwell House mug but I tore into it before I thought to take a picture. Sorry, I hadn’t had my coffee yet. Here’s a picture of my third cup when I was trying to perk up my poor pansies outside.

So they sent three varieties, Nabob, Gevalia and Maxwell House. I tried the Nabob Keurig®* Compatible Pods and Maxwell House Keurig®* Compatible Pods first – very nice – but I LOVED the Gevalia Keurig®* Compatible Pods. They say it’s “Coffee the Swedish way” which I can only imagine means it’s happier and gets a longer maternity leave. I found it really smooth and lovely, plus, it wasn’t bitter at all. It comes in a Dark House Blend and Dark Italian Roast too. My father-in-law preferred the Maxwell House Keurig®* Compatible Pods but he likes stronger coffee. I think the Nabob Keurig®* Compatible Pods would land somewhere in the middle.

They come in little packs that just pop into the machine like a regular K-cup.

I swear if they make a biodegradable pod one day I’ll be the first one in line. The Kraft Keurig* Compatible Pods are individually sealed so they are always fresh.

You can get a $1 OFF coupon from the Kraft website if you want to try them out for yourself.

Plus, they are running a nice, little giveaway right now for all you Canadians out there. • The Organic Coffee Company makes biodegradable pods! Not sure if they are abailable in Canada though. And the coffee is really good, too.

  • There was a campaign on kickstarter for the "Joe Pod" it’s an adapter for your regular coffee maker to take the k-cups. I think they are funded now, but I don’t know when they will be available for purchase. Pretty much all I know is that the idea exists. But i think that it’s pretty cool, since I’m not the type to spend money on a keurig if i’ve got a coffee maker.

    • I saw those! I don’t think he’s got them in the market yet though.

I love my Keurig because I’m the only one in the house that drinks coffee so I love the "on demand" aspect of it. I found I was dumping too many old, cold pots of coffee before I got it.

    • Nothing except I drank about a gallon a day when I had a newborn. I don’t think I would have survived those first few months (who am I kidding, years) without coffee.

Plus, they asked me if I wanted to try them and I said, "Sure."
