Mommy’s Lil Monkey Giveaway

I love handmade stuff AND I hate sewing so I love sites like Mommy’s Lil Monkey.

It was started in 2008 when Canadian mom, Julia, started sewing for her own little monkey at the end of her maternity leave. She loved it so much that she decided to start her own business.

She has tons of handcrafted goodies and exclusive products for the whole family and, I gotta say, the prices are really reasonable – you can find a baby blanket for under $10 bucks. So not only can you lie and say that you made it yourself, you can also get a lot of stuff so you look quite accomplished.

The giveaway that is up for grabs is a “Pins & Needles” wet bag that is approximately 12″x15″.

As a mother of former shit-up-the-back babies, I can totally appreciate something like this. Whether you use them to store a wet bathing suit, gym clothes, muddy shoes or icky sticky toddler bibs, these waterproof, lined bags with velcro closures are just brilliant. Just turn them inside out and tossed them in the wash with the horror they were carrying.

But that’s not all! (Slapchop style!)

Julia is also offering up a $10 gift certificate that can be used towards anything on the site (except custom orders & shipping).  It’s also transferable so you can give it to someone else but I don’t know why you’d want to do that.

Above are just a few of the items that I liked. It may be just me, but I find the glow-in-the-dark Owl nursing pads hysterical. I’d call them my “hell ya hooter hats” – I would also use them as coasters while nursing of course. I also wish that she made the sock monkey dress in my size.

Good stuff, eh?

All you have to do to enter is to go have a look at the site and leave a comment here telling me what you’d put your gift certificate towards if you won. I’m pick a random winner tomorrow morning (Sun, Feb 27). You can also find her on Facebook and Twitter.

Good luck, my happy Hooters!
