This stroller is an umbrella stroller that kinds isn’t an umbrella stroller. Here’s what I mean:
If you don’t want to watch the video, here is my cheat sheet:
THINGS I LOVED:
- This stroller is super compact both in action and folded
- The ride is super smooth
- It’s really light at 13lbs
- Good storage underneath
- Includes a rain cover & canopy extender
- Car seat compatible for Cybex (Aton), Nuna (Pipa), Maxi Cosi (Mico AP) and Graco (Classic Connect) – adaptor sold separately
- Single bar handles so it’s easy to push one handed
- Nice and nimble to squeeze through any place you can
- It folds lengthwise instead of widthwise to give you more of a square-fold than a golf-bag fold
- It has a standing fold and the handle doesn’t touch the floor (this isn’t a pet peeve for me but I know it bugs a number of people)
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- The cup holder and carseat adapters are extra. This pisses some people off but I’d prefer to only pay for the things I’m using. I would need that cup holder though ; )
- It’s around $299 which isn’t super inexpensive (but not nutty either)
If you want to compare it to others:
- Armadillo Flip: folds down just as small and has the forward facing option but it runs around $499
- UPPAbaby G-Luxe: True umbrella stroller so it’s longer and narrower when folded. Isn’t car seat adaptable, but it’s about the same weight and comfort and runs around $260
- Mountain Buggy Nano: A little wider but comes with the travel bags and weighs the same as the Emotion. It runs around $230
If you’re in the U.S. and you wanted to support the Burd, I’m part of the Amazon affiliate program so if you buy Babyhome Emotion here, your cost will be the same but Pregnant Chicken will automatically receive a small commission. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps support my Diet Snapple habit.
Have you ever tried a Bugaboo stroller? If so what did you think?
I really like Bugaboos! My only complaint is that they are expensive and I find other companies are starting to catch up in quality while being a little less expensive like Bumbleride, Baby Jogger and Uppababy.
Hi Amy, I’m considering getting a Bugaboo Cameleon 3 but just not sure if it’s worth the money. I read a review of it here http://www.strollerdiva.com/bugaboo-cameleon-stroller-review/ and in a nutshell, it looks great, is a very good stroller but other strollers are just as good for half the price. Is this your feeling as well?
Bugaboos are really gorgeous but I do think you can get a similar stroller for less. Personally, I would go with something like UPPABaby or even the Britax B-Ready. That said, I don’t want to talk you out of it if you love it. If you plan to have more than one child, that cost is amortized nicely over time, plus, Bugaboos have great resale value so you can always sell it when you’re done with it. I hope that helps!
Hi Amy, we are planning a family vacation with our LO in December to an International destination (read 17hr trip to Africa). LO will be 18months then. We’ve been looking to get an umbrella-type stroller for everyday use and also for this trip. Do you think this could be good for that?
