Chicco Liteway Plus Review

I love baby gear that does double duty. The new Chicco Liteway plus pairs the functionality of a car seat carrier with the ease of an umbrella stroller. Smart!

If you don’t want to watch the video, here is my cheat sheet:

  • A lightweight umbrella stroller that holds the Keyfit 30 which is an awesome carseat
  • Decent storage
  • Nice cup holder (dumb thing to love but I think it’s important)
  • Easy fold
  • Still a good price point at around $180
  • Weighs 23lbs so it’s easy to toss around

  • I wish the canopy was a bit bigger
  • You’re going to want to use it on smooth surfaces like malls and sidewalks
  • It doesn’t just flip to convert, you have to zip and click a couple of things to shift from carseat mode to umbrella stroller mode.

Here’s a video from Chicco to show how the conversion works:

  • I have this stroller and I love it, a solid 8/10. I got it instead my if the Keyfit Caddy and I’m so glad I did since my son outgrew his infant seat at about 6 months and now I don’t have to store/get rid of yet another temporarily useful baby product. Also no adapters to buy or lose, that sucker just clicks right it. The. It turns into a really solid umbrella stroller. Now its not the fanciest out there but I think it definitely holds its own and I think it’s really sleek looking (I have had more than one Uppababy driver ask me about my cool stroller). Very easy to maneuver and squeezes in some pretty tight spaces. I added a Skip Hop organizer for extra storage and it folds perfectly with the stroller. You can also hang quite a bit from the back (I know you’re not supposed to do this but we all do, I’m just saying) and I think umbrella handles are way more convenient than the single bar handles. Really solid build and pushes well with my nearly 30 pound 15 month old (aka Gigantor Baby) with plenty of room to spare. As you mentioned, the canopy isn’t the largest and is kind of floppy which is a pet peeve. The seat flip from carrier to stroller has a couple of steps but chances are you’re not flipping back and forth daily unless you’re like me and went and had another baby so now I change it from infant carrier to stroller a couple times a day. It is also heavier compared to some of these ultra lightweight strollers but I think it makes up for it in functionality (car seat carrier, seat recline) and maneuverability. This is my car stroller and I use it several times a day and don’t have much issue with the weight. If they made it lighter and put a better canopy on it, it might be perfect!

  • Thanks for the review! We registered and received this stroller but haven’t used it yet…good to know!
