Graco is voluntarily recalling over 25,000 My Ride 65 car seats after the harness webbing failed to meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. “In the event of a serious motor vehicle crash, the harness webbing restraining the child may break resulting in a child not being properly restrained,” the agency explained.
The recalled seats were produced between May and August of 2014 under these model numbers, and sold in the US and Canada:
Additionally, Graco’s Canadian division is also recalling these model numbers specific to Canada:
Owners of the affected model numbers can contact Graco customer service at 1-800-345-4109 to order their free replacement harness, or, if you’re on your game and actually registered your seat when you got it, you should be hearing from them once the recall officially begins this July.
In a statement made on their Facebook page, Graco explained that although the straps are being recalled, it is still safe to use the seat while waiting for the replacement harness.
