Little Hats for a Big Cause

Babies wearing red hats - little hats big hearts campaign

Calling all sirens of the skein!

Knitters and crocheters are needed to help spread the word that hearts matter.

The American Heart Association is paring with The Children’s Heart Foundation in the Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign, a program designed to bring awareness to the importance of living a heart healthy life.

By providing babies born in February with red hats, the AHA and CHF hope to continue the discussion about the importance of taking care of your ticker, both for yourself, and for your wee little babes. They also want to bring more attention to Congenital Heart Defects – one of the most common forms of birth defects out there.

Crafty betches who want to join the fun and crank out some teeny tiny hats can find out more information here, including where to find patterns, as well as where to send the hats.

When it started in 2014, Little Hats, Big Hearts collected over 300 donated hats. As of now, over 40 states are participating, and hopefully that number can be blown out of the water.
